We’re Back!

So…… it’s been a while.

I started this blog last year with the intention of posting a new entry every week. Then life started life-ing, as life is wont to do. I’m not making excuses. I take full responsibility for dropping the ball on this one. But it was for a good reason. I started pursuing a Master’s program, and that became my main focus for a while. I’m still reading for it, but I also realised that this blog is important to me as well, and as long as I can spare some time each week to write, then I should keep at it. So here we are, back at it again, but we’re making a few changes this time around.

When I started this blog last year I wanted to focus exclusively on Web3 tech and how it could be applied specifically within the context of Caribbean nations. This time around, I’ve decided to be a lot less hyperfocused on any specific topic. It may be a popular best practice for a blog to stick to a specific subject but …. do I have to? No. I don’t. This is my blog. I can do whatever I want. Nobody has to read it. HOWEVER, if I write about stuff that interests me then chances are other people might find it interesting as well. That being the case, what are the kinds of things that you can expect to be reading about on this blog in 2025?

The O.G. Topic: Web3 Technology

Yep, this is still a thing for me. I still believe that we haven’t even scratched the surface of what we can achieve with blockchain technology so I am all onboard where this is concerned. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on crypto, the various tokenomics systems, Web3 gaming and the PlaytoEarn paradigm, along with anything else happening in the Web3 space.

Technical Writing

As a freelance technical writer, it would behove me (lol, I love that word) to write about my chosen profession. I’ll discuss best practices that you can apply to your own documentation, interesting projects that I’m working on (if I can), and anything else I think is interesting enough to share.

Cool Software

Who doesn’t love software. We all have our favourites. Lemme tell you about some o’ mine, as well as some interesting ones you may not have heard of. I’m also interested in participating in the open-source software community so I’ll fill you in on what’s going on in that corner of the world.

Jamaica, land we love

I don’t mean to brag but I live where most people wanna vacay. So sometimes I’m gonna wanna show off my country and the beauty thereof (okay, so maybe I do mean to brag a li’l bit).

Music

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far away, I played guitar in several bands. Music was my first love, and it’s still one of my true loves, so naturally I’m gonna write about it. What type of music will I write about? I dunno. I might talk about some of my favourite artists and albums, or about other bands in the city of Kingston where I live, or even share some musical ideas of my own. Who knows?

Personal Musings

Sometimes I may be processing an idea or two and decide to share it with y’all, my readers. I may want to either get your opinions or simply share whatever mad idea I’ve got cooking up, or both. Stay tuned.

As you can see, this year I’m gonna be a lot more flexible with the content. Hopefully, that’ll make it more enjoyable for everyone and more palatable for more people. At the very least, it’ll make it more fun for me, so as far as I can see, I’m already winning. I’m gonna try and stick to a regular schedule for writing and uploading content (every Sunday) but I’m not gonna be hard and fast about it. What’s more important is to consistently write for y’all.

Anyway, that’s the plan so let’s see what we can cook up.

See y’all next week.
